I'm lying in bed,
listening to Adele on repeat.
Her song,
* Someone like you * is one of the best
songs I've heard this year.
A plane just flew overhead
and I imagine I can smell the sea.
The sounds of summer are all around me
like a string of salty pearls.
Beaches with stones,
those are the ones I like.
Yes,
the ones with sand too,
but the stones speak to me,
I think of the waves that wash over them
year after year.
The years before you or I were here.
And the years after you and I are gone.
What a thought!
All those ocean dreams.
Ebbing and flowing with the tides.

I love Adele and "Someone Like You Too", but also "Set Fire to the Rain" which plays on the radio every single morning when I'm at work and I find myself dancing around the aisles at Sainsbury's, singing along silently inside my head!
