Sensing the senses
It was another lovely week,
pale pink roses blooming in our garden
( the ones we were given as a wedding present
and planted on our * actual * wedding day.)
Coffee cups and books,
and wondering how I can get back here more often.
Yesterday I read
( in open mouthed ) amazement that
90% of people don't actually taste tea or coffee as they drink it.
They sit in coffee shops with their planners and
Moleskines and diaries drinking,
their minds on other things,
and as they drink they swallow
without tasting!
How bizzare,
yet how wonderful.
Every sip of coffee I had yesterday,
I savoured.
Coffee without tasting?
That would be as soft a sound,
as weeping.
Happy Sunday, dears.
Reading
One hundred years of solitude
by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Drinking
( I'll let you guess)
Eating
A tiny cherry bakewell tart ( yum)
Dreaming of
our American trip, come November
Wishing
that a home would clean itself
Enjoying
summer sights, and sounds
Loving
Life and laughter
Mood
Really really happy
