Like the light

These days,

passing by in silent succession

like a  grey blue sea.

The songs of Ani DiFranco on repeat.

Last night I was looking out

the window

and as I did

a glass slipped from my hand.

I guess it was because I was dreaming of you.

It shattered into a million tiny pieces.

As they lay on the floor they caught the

only glimpse of sunlight that

arrived yesterday.

The broken pieces were beautiful

catching the rainbow of light.

Today I'll gather peaches

and relive that moment,

that
memory

once

more.

Sometimes broken things

can be

beautiful too

A sound of birds singing

It's early.  And almost a year since I was here. I hear a sound of birds singing  outside my window and a dog barking down the street. ...
