Within a dream

Who can enclose the words?

The inner thoughts that go coursing

through your veins?

His touch was so soft  at times

I felt as though it could heal any wound.

As though I was

looking at a lake

reflected in the waiting sky,

full of open roses.

Look how they lie, I thought.

So still,

so silent,

If a strong breeze came,

it would scatter them

to the four winds.

I wondered if they would keep their shape,

if their scent would float through

the air

and land

gently on my skin.

Suddenly,

then,

it was as if this last week had not really happened,

and summer became a room,

a room

within a dream

  1. Anna, my flower! Sorry I haven't left you a comment in a while. My poor internet connection has prevented me from doing so although I've tried many a time! :-(

    I particularly love this image:

    'a lake

    reflected in the waiting sky,

    full of open roses'

You are so good at capturing beauty in both words and pictures.

We had a very emotional week, and now just feel really drained.
(Just as if we had run a half marathon with you and your Dad :))
Thanks so much ( I love it when you love it )

Pretty misty stars

A sound of birds singing

It's early.  And almost a year since I was here. I hear a sound of birds singing  outside my window and a dog barking down the street. ...
