Losing

If I could,

I would print a photo of her

and leave it here, for all to see.

However, I won't.

To protect identities, I don't ever print

any family photos or even a

small snapshot of myself.

What I will do, though;

is tell you

that I lost my mum~in~ law on Tuesday.

She had become increasingly frail in

twenty ten

and on Tuesday, February 1st, The Lord

took her home to Heaven.

The days that followed

left me feeling as though

I was being dipped in scarlet pools of joy

and sadness simultaneously .

We faded in and out of our memories of her,

and in the quiet moments of exhaustion

blinked back a thousand tears.

Love once came,

love once stayed,

and we will never forget her.

For today,
this,
this, is all we need.
