Planes, trains and automobiles

On and off the trains,

the tube,

the bus.

Everything about London inspired me.

It made me want to write the most

wonderful words.

When I * eventually* got to bed last night,

I read and read lots about Dame Julie Andrews.

Apparently, the two Mount Sinai surgeons who

botched her throat surgery in 1997

settled out of court.

She got a $21 million dollar settlement.

But afterwards,

she had to spend some time in a psychiatric unit

coming to terms with it.

No wonder.

She had perfect pitch and her voice could

range five octaves.

FIVE OCTAVES!

I can't begin to imagine how the surgeons felt.

Imagine being the one responsible for

ruining that voice.

Oh my.

I fell asleep

with London still running fast and furiously

through my bloodstream,

and listening to a lady,

who although she doesn't have the

five octave range anymore~

will always be perfect to me.

A happy sigh,

in the darkness.

Dame Julie,

thank you,

thank you.

  1. Wow! Wow! Wow!

Incredible photographs, darling! :) And I did not know that about Dame Julie! In fact, I don't know much about her at all! I'm really glad she made your weekend...

  2. Hi sweetie :)
Aw thanks ! I took loads of photos.
I've heard a few people say they don't know much
about her and it amazes me.
Mary Poppins, the sound of music, thoroughly modern Millie,
all films famous because of her.
The concert got very poor reviews,
but I loved every SECOND of it.
Hope your week has got off to a good start my pet :)

Pretty misty stars

A sound of birds singing

It's early.  And almost a year since I was here. I hear a sound of birds singing  outside my window and a dog barking down the street. ...
