Little snapshots

Taking pictures

makes the world more beautiful to me.

Those tiny  ephemeral moments,

frozen in a second,

forever.

Life has been so strange lately,

I  had a falling out with a family member

which turned out to be an Epiphany

for my wounded heart.

I found a freedom from a yoke that

has bound me for almost 11 years now,

and with the searing wounds that scratched like

thorns

came a realisation that I really don't have

to be perfect all the time.

That  constant striving to be all to everyone

has left me gasping for breath

and with no memory of who I really am.

Isn't that sad and rather melancholy?

So it's time to empty those rooms at last,

to stop the quest and to look forward with longing~

to the future.

With this freedom  exciting happenings have come~

things I  could have only dreamed of,

once.

We are planning two road trips!

One to the South End of the island of Ireland

where the houses are painted the colour of

pretty seashells,

and the other,

5,175 miles from where we live.

I've taken those faded, wilting roses,

and filled the jar with fresh ones.

It feels nice.

I think it's really good to have a 'spring clean' sometimes. Enjoy the freedom and the exciting times ahead!

Pretty misty stars

A sound of birds singing

It's early.  And almost a year since I was here. I hear a sound of birds singing  outside my window and a dog barking down the street. ...
