Maybe not yet

I made a list.

Of things I wanted to do

to make the house

look seasonal and welcome fall

through a waiting door.

(Think baskets of russet apples and cinnamon  candles.)

I'm still walking down the hill to work

in sparkly white flip flops

while all the Filipino nurses coming

off night duty are wrapped in pretty scarves

and warm coats.

Summer doesn't end

until October 31st ( I think)

and we have Italy in three days.

I want to stand on the Ponte Vecchio ( old bridge)

and watch the river Arno flow quietly by.

Look out at the sweetly setting sun

and think of Indian summers

still to come.

All photos today,
my little tribute to Indian Summers.
Grazie. ( Thank you)

  2. Hallo my darling Kess and forgive me for being so remiss on thanking you for all your lovely ( and so precious to me ) comments on my earlier posts.
I come here so rarely these days, and usually I don't read back so I had missed them.
I am so longing for Italy. There is a lot going on here at home, so the break will be more than welcome.
Kess will you send me your current address? I'd like to send a postcard to you. I think you did email me it but I just want to confirm you are still at that address.
    Much love, my darling girl.

Pretty misty stars

A sound of birds singing

It's early.  And almost a year since I was here. I hear a sound of birds singing  outside my window and a dog barking down the street. ...
