The beyondness of things
Today is a new day
for falling in love with words all over again.
I chose the title of this post
because I am
sitting in bed listening to a piece of music
with that title.
I know I've heard it in a movie somewhere,
but can I remember?
No.
Out the attic window the sky is a
perfect powder blue.
To town then with my sister for lunch and
before that a trip to the hairdresser to get
soft curls in my hair.
I'll wear a flower in them, perhaps,
and silver bangles on my wrist.
Pretend winter isn't crouching behind the door.
Think pretty fragile thoughts
and dream of air
that is laced with the scent of cinnamon.
Hear you saying again to me
* I lost you once,
and I will never let that happen again.*
Beyond the beyondness of things,
I'll hold you in my heart.
Like a Christmas bauble,
fragile~ gentle,
of course.
