A tale of today

We lock the windows at night.

Obviously,

for security.

When I come downstairs

in the heat of these

summer mornings the first thing I do

is fling them open wide.

And the kitchen door, it leads out to our garden.

Our lovely garden.

My safe place.

Away from the choking heat of the hospital.

The cars sweeping

to work on burning asphalt.

Now, in the still coolness of the evening,

I 'm there.

Listening,

to the ghosts of car horns,

brakes,

the birds,

getting ready for bed.

Todays photo of the daisies, in my garden.
Taken by me, today.

  1. I really love daisies even though I hear they are weeds. They are far too pretty and dainty to be weeds, don't you think? They are one of my favourite flowers.

I loved this post too, sweetheart. I always enjoy reading your words.
