Windowsills

The weather was perfect,

and we had music all the day long.

Notes,

beautiful,

dreamy,

ethereal .

Flutes on the floor of the old schoolroom we were in,

flutes at the windowsills

and sheet music fluttering to the floor

every other minute.

Afterwards

we drove to the mountains for tea.

Yes,

in forty minutes

we were at the mountains.

Silently majestic in the sun,

waiting there,

quietly~

for us.

We went to our favourite seafood bar,

ate chowder

and bread

hot from the oven.

Driving home I

thought about the time once,

when I had thirty minutes

to make a decision.

One that would have changed my life forever.

I'll never know what would have happened

if I had.

Life's like that,

is

it

not

  1. I like this very much! One of the things I love about your posts is that you really let us privileged readers into your thoughts :) Rochester said to Jane Eyre 'Your mind is my treasure'. Your mind is full of beautiful things. I loved travelling along with you as I read this post.

Pretty misty stars

A sound of birds singing

It's early.  And almost a year since I was here. I hear a sound of birds singing  outside my window and a dog barking down the street. ...
