An American in Paris

Again,

it's late.

My youngest son's girlfriend is home

from Paris ( sigh) ( although she comes from Los Angeles ( sigh again)

but is studying in France.

I was going to make Mexican food for dinner

but then I remembered she is half Mexican

so that idea went right out the window with the fajitas.

No pressure then. :)

Actually, it's nine thirty

and I've just sat down,

I've been on my feet since six thirty am

apart from my thirty minute lunch break.

( Which in reality felt like thirty seconds.)

Can I measure today?

Maybe.

I actually got a * sincere* smile from the evil queen,

and it shocked me so much I didn't know

whether to laugh or cry,

so I ended up giving a half grin

which probably made me look as if

I was having either a stroke or

a small seizure.

Yesterday,

something Kess said in her comment

provoked a lot of thought.

Perhaps I'll write about it tomorrow.

For now,

I'm off to bed to watch an episode of 24

on my laptop.

And wonder what to feed

an American / Mexican girl

tomorrow night.

  1. Oh my! I'm trying to remember what I said now, and work out if it's good or bad that it provoked a lot of thought! Lol

I love your clock, by the way! I've never seen anything like it before!

I'd suggest something typically English for your son's girlfriend, but I'm stuck for inspiration. The only typically things I can think of are fish and chips (and take aways are hardly impressive) and beef. Hmmm... I'm sure you'll come up with something though, darling. You could always cook fajitas - that might make her feel at home.

    Anyway, I'm off to bed.

    Night night, sweetpea

A sound of birds singing

It's early.  And almost a year since I was here. I hear a sound of birds singing  outside my window and a dog barking down the street. ...
