What's not to love

Dreams of summer.

They danced around all day

in my heart and head.

One of the things I love about

summer is the travel.

Perhaps I was a gypsy in a previous life,

with a skirt made of scarlet and

golden hoops in my ears.

I love travel.

Sitting in an airport I am at my happiest,

or waiting on a train.

Once,

we went on a three week vacation

around Europe.

We even took our bikes so we could cycle

around Amsterdam.

During that trip we wanted to go to

Kracow,

as we both wanted to see the

factory where Schindlers list was filmed.

We did.

And had a wonderful day in that city.

On the train back through Poland,

we met a ballerina.

She got into our carriage

and was carrying her tutu and dance costume,

and wearing flowers in her hair.

Bloved helped her place her dance costume

on the overhead luggage rack.

He speaks fluent Polish,

and in the conversation

( of which I understood one word :)

she told him she was the principal dancer

of the Krakow ballet.

Our train journey that night took almost

two hours to get back to our hotel,

and I've never forgotten it.

The clackity clack of the train on the rails,

and the most beautiful girl I've ever seen

on the seat,

opposite mine.

  1. Wow! :) You and Bloved have had some real adventures! Most of my travels have been UK based, not that I mind. We're off to Scotland this summer. Kessie might just meet Nessie! Lol.

    Night night darling.

Pretty misty stars

A sound of birds singing

It's early.  And almost a year since I was here. I hear a sound of birds singing  outside my window and a dog barking down the street. ...
