Painting the roses red

Life has thrown a couple of interesting

challenges at us recently.

That's why I didn't make it here yesterday.

I'm also mad at myself

for accidentally deleting

over two hundred posts,

as now I can't remember

what will be officially the

birthday day of my blog.

Boo hiss.

Today like Alice I really wish

I could fall down the rabbit hole,

drink the potion

and become teenie tiny and

watch all the Queen's men painting the

roses red.

Mustn't grumble.

The sun is peeking through the attic windows,

the sky has dusted itself in

a lovely shade of baby blue.

and it's Easter Day.

Kess will be off singing lovely

words of praise,

heck I might even go to Church myself.

There are Easter eggs to be eaten,

and my family are coming for a lovely

Sunday Lunch.

I'll forget the challenges,

and just think

lovely,

lovely,

lovely.

  1. Happy Easter, my lovely! :)

I just wrote you a long comment, and then my internet stopped working and I lost it! :( I will have to try and remember exactly what I wrote...

I know your blogging birthday can't be far away, but I don't see why you shouldn't choose the date yourself, considering you no longer know :) Adeline Yen Mah was given her father's birthday because he couldn't remember hers!

I've just returned from singing lots of lovely hymns of praise. Like you, we have family over for lunch, and I'm currently enjoying a chocolate egg, and my fourth cup of tea since Lent finished :D

I hope the recent challenges don't get you down. Glad you're enjoying the blue skies and sunshine. I'm sending more your way!

  2. Happy Easter Day
    my darling!
    Good idea Kess!
I'll give my blog it's birthday on my birthday,
    shall I?
I love the books of Adeline Yen Mah.
Have you read * Chinese Cinderella?*
It was one of my faves.
My mum ~in~law is staying with us over Easter.
( She is going into residental care on Wed)
At 4:30 am this morning bloved and I were wakened as she
polished the photos in our bedroom!
I nearly jumped out of my nightie lol.
    Poor mama.
    She is so confused.
    *Sob.
Anyway she is off to my sister in laws for lunch so we will get a few
    hours peace and quiet lol.
Have a lovely Easter Day my darling.
Enjoy all those cups of tea and chocolate!

  3. Aw, bless her. I can sympathise with you because my grandad has dementia. Sadly he is in the advanced stages and doesn't recognise us any more :( He is doubly incontinent and has lost most of his mobility. He would probably benefit from being in a home, but my grandma won't hear of it, even though her hips are a often quite dodgy. I don't think he has long left.

I love 'Chinese Cinderella'. It is a book that I become so emotionally involved with every time I read it. I've also read her full autobiography, 'Falling Leaves', and I have another of hers - 'Watching the Tree' - lined up to read at some point.

Enjoy the peace and quiet, sweetheart.

Pretty misty stars

A sound of birds singing

It's early.  And almost a year since I was here. I hear a sound of birds singing  outside my window and a dog barking down the street. ...
