It was all in the dreaming.
Or that's how five weeks in America seemed.
Now it's home
and back to mittens ,
hot chocolate and
dreams of Christmas.
This house needs cleaned.
There are still suitcases,
lying strewn all over the place~
clothes spilling out of them
like open mouths.
It's as well my mom is in Heaven
or she would be
telling me to tidy up my room.
Carols in the car and on the TV.
Kiddies getting so excited about the man in the red suit.
Looking at the week aheads weather leaves
me feeling rather seasonal.
I'm longing for frosted,
diamond sparkling streets
or even a dusting of icing sugar snow.
I need a reason to make gallons
of hot chocolate for my family.
With just so few days until Christmas,
I still have a fair bit of
shopping, baking, cleaning and fretting to do.
So I know how I will be spending many
of the days that lie ahead.
This, however,
is what I'd like.
Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Coconut coffee, the most wonderful coffee I've
ever tasted, bought in Carmel, CA

A Christmas Carol
Back to reality, eh? Hope you're enjoying the Christmas spirit and all the festivities. I know I am. We went to a lovely carol service this afternoon in an old church out in the sticks - you would have loved it! This was followed by the usual mince pies and mulled wine.
ReplyDeleteI could sit and drink hot chocolate with you all day, listening to tales of your adventures in America. Mind you, that coconut coffee sure sounds swell!
