Across the winter sea
Bells ring through
this silent Christmas Sunday .
I love those silences,
the ones when I can
almost hear my heartbeat.
Our hearts this week have been
wrapped in love and carols
and scents that only come,
once a year.
The trees in the park still skeletal.
The sky,
dove grey with
sprinkles of silver glitter.
How calm this day,
this day
of dreams and you,
across a winter sea.
