When hearts are silenced
The snow came,
again;
and with it came a quiet.
Nowhere to go when that silence comes,
nowhere to run from your thoughts.
Today I went out,
against all the weathermen telling me
not to travel unless I absolutely
had to
but the need to feel snowflakes that stayed on my nose
and eyelashes was too great.
In memory of Blake Edwards,
who died today.
He was the husband of Dame Julie Andrews for
forty one years.
