This joy



Words, 

sweet and set on the table 

before you today

will be as few  as the last sweeties in a tin.

I have a gazillion things to do.

Mama hood is busy on Christmas Eve.

Vegetables to prepare, last minute things to do.

This joy,

twinkle lights,

giving and receiving,

smiles, books,

and wonder. 

Always wonder.
