On quiet days

Quiet days.

Today for instance.

It's the last day of our vacation

( why can't they last for ever?)

I feel as though I want to cram ALL the things

I love doing into this day,

cooking, reading, sewing,

surfing the net~

but time constraints

sit heavily on my shoulders.

Last night we closed the curtains

against the dark light  and watched this sweet movie.

It reminded us of Verona ( my favourite place on earth at present)

and my heart longed for Italy

all over again.

Watching the clock now reminds me of

the fact that I'll have to get my uniform ready,

make lunches

and tidy up.

All routine tasks that a million people around the world do,

every day.

The thoughts of them

are rattling  around the attic like a rather sad ghost.

Really,

I want it to be a quiet day.

Where a lake that I looked over for a whole week

made me feel like the sea would bloom,

forever.

  1. Oh, I want to see that film! :)

I'm sorry that your holidays have come to an end :( I can so relate to today's post. Well I'm looking forward to starting work, I'm sad that I will have less time. Like you, I wish they could last forever. You listed all the things I like to cram into my holidays too!

Pretty misty stars

A sound of birds singing

It's early.  And almost a year since I was here. I hear a sound of birds singing  outside my window and a dog barking down the street. ...
