Pie Jesu

When the world crowds in,

I get uncomfortable.

I lose all sense of me,

and feel as though I am fighting for

my sense of identity.

We were incredibly busy in work today,

and as I drove home

bloved rang me to

say he had left the keys to his bike lock

in a room he was lecturing in this morning.

We had a visitor coming for tea,

no wait.

You don't really need to know all the minutiae.

Enough said

that I had to go collect bloved

at the University where he lectures.

I'd forgotten how beautiful a building it is.

Red bricks and the quad

full of cherry blossom trees.

I sat under one of them,

waiting,

when suddenly,

all the pressures of life

seemed small.

The cherry blossom drifted onto my hair,

and the song

of the day came on my ipod.

I realised,

that for every minute of life,

no matter how busy,

someone,

sends us music like this.

  1. I love the blossom trees! :) They are one of my favourite things about this time of the year. Our little cherry tree shed its blossom weeks ago, but there are some lovely blossom trees at work. I adore the whites and dark pinks that adorn the branches.

Pretty misty stars

A sound of birds singing

It's early.  And almost a year since I was here. I hear a sound of birds singing  outside my window and a dog barking down the street. ...
