Beaded prayer

Come.

Gather stars with me.

Clasp them tightly to your heart,

which sometimes ~

seems to

be made of lace and shells.

Imagine you hear the sea,

the waves crashing and falling

around our feet

like prayers,

mumbled

and sounding

like a prayer bracelet

held gently in

our hands.

Come gather stars.

Listen,

as I whisper the encore

of our love.

Empty sky

Under a big empty sky

I came to you,

once.

Not knowing that for ever more,

I would feel as though

your heart was tied

to my rib with a piece of red silk thread.

Now,

I love seeing people reuniting.

Anywhere.

In airports.

Train stations.

Like that opening scene of * Love actually.*

I love the kissing

and the soulful lingering looks,

I love the words that just won't come.

The lacing of fingers.

Wondering what stories

will be told on the journey home.

The snuggles and the love making and the wine drinking.

Under that  empty sky.

No more being without you.

Four days in London

until London.

I have three favourite cities in the world,

London,

Paris and New York.

London, especially.

For reasons,

too private even for this heart to write about.

It's a sad story,

and we can't be having any sadness on

a bank holiday now,

can we?

Just know that

I'll be the girl standing

on the balcony of

The Tate Modern,

looking out over the Millennium Bridge,

for you.

A sound of birds singing

It's early.  And almost a year since I was here. I hear a sound of birds singing  outside my window and a dog barking down the street. ...
