August Light

Last night

I was sure I sniffed the scent of Autumn

on the air.

We sat outside beside our fire pit,

singing songs badly out of tune.

We had a wonderful holiday.

Our house was right in the heart of the mountains

no internet access *eek! *

We could barley get a phone signal.

During our break

God spoke to my heart of many things.

Probably because I actually took time to listen.

Now, the August light is dimming.

I can still smell woodsmoke and peat

and the pages of a new book.

All of the things that make me.

Like buttons on a coat.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday too, dears.

Reading : Alan Sugar * The way I see it*

Drinking Costa coffee

Mood : Relaxed and more in love than ever

  1. Glad you had a wonderful break.
Even now I'm finding it hard to get back into the hussle of everyday life, and would much rather be just relaxing without a care in the world.
    The cottage looks wonderful :)
Even though the days are hot I find the nights rather chilly and was just out feeding the birds, we've been lucky enough to have a Mrs Robi nest in our garden..she is pure delight!!so I was looking at all the willow tree leaves on the grass and thinking the same about autumn. The colder seasons always seem so long to me.
Hope you and the family are all well, take care my dear, lots of love H XX

A sound of birds singing

It's early.  And almost a year since I was here. I hear a sound of birds singing  outside my window and a dog barking down the street. ...
